It's only "pot" ....Why all the fuss?   Seriously....we never heard of this guy....until today:
Knicks' Chandler ticketed for pot
NEW YORK, May 19 (UPI) -- The New York Knicks' Wilson Chandler was ticketed for allegedly holding a small amount of pot after being pulled over in a traffic stop, police said Wednesday. The New York Post reports the 23-year-old forward was given a desk appearance ticket for the misdemeanor charge after police searched his car in the Queens borough Tuesday night. The search took place after officers allegedly smelled marijuana coming from Chandler's Mercedes Benz, the newspaper said.

The Braves......finally beat the Mets:

Post ....Hump Day News& Views

Same old Braves.....

Some things never change. After opening the 2009 major league baseball season with 2 straight wins over the defending world champion Philadelphia Phillies, the Atlanta bullpen imploded yesterday.

With a seven run lead going into the bottom of the 7th inning........four Braves relievers' combined ineptitude.......led to 8 Phillie runs.

That 7th inning? 6 walks.........5 hits........and 8 earned runs. Philadelphia won the game, 12-11.

Ouch!!!!! From Yahoo Sports:
Down 7 in 7th, Phils beat Braves 12-11

39 wins..........0 losses..........

The University of Connecticut (UConn) womens' basketball team completed an utterly remarkable season by beating Louisville, 76-54. (
UConn wins NCAA title in 76-54 rout…)

A perfect ending to a perfect season.

Consider this.........Uconn won all 39 games by double digits....a first in college basketball.

For head coach Geno Auriemma (pictured) and his talented lady Husky team, this was UConn's 6th national championship and 3rd undefeated season. Only the Lady Vols of Tennessee have more titles ( eight).

So our congrats ..........to the women of UConn..........

Happy Trails......Marvin Webster..........

Back in the day..........he was known as "the human eraser". He stood 7 feet 1 inch tall......

Webster played 10 seasons on professional basketball for 4 teams in a career that spanned from 1976 to 1987.

From the Associated Press:

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Former NBA star Marvin Webster has been found dead in a bathtub at a Tulsa hotel.

The 56-year-old Webster was discovered in his room Monday morning in the downtown Ambassador Hotel, police said Wednesday.

Foul play is not suspected and the death apparently stemmed from an illness, police spokesman Jason Willingham said. He added that the former 7-foot-1 center had been living at the hotel and employees grew concerned after not seeing him for several days.

The medical examiner office said the cause of death has not been determined.

Short stuff..........

The Atlanta Hawks are teasing us again.....they've won 2 straight...on the road.

The Masters start today at Augusta National........All eyes will be on Tiger...

Was this years mens NCAA basketball tournament as boring to you as it was to me?

Are they still playing Hockey?

Until......next time........

In case you missed it.....

Last night in a Big East conference quarter final game in Madison Square Garden, Syracuse beat Connecticut, 127-117........

But that is only 1/6 ........of the story.

This game had .......six........6.......VI..........overtimes!!!!!!!!!!!

From the New York Daily News:

Long night is absolute Madness

Daily News writer, Sean Brennan, had some interesting numbers....

Check this out:

•The game took 3:46 to play. (It started at 9:36 p.m. Thursday and ended at 1:22 a.m. Friday).

•There were 244 points scored in the game.

•Nine players scored in double figures.

•Six players logged double-doubles, including:

UConn's Hasheem Thabeet (19 points, 14 rebounds)

UConn's Stanley Robinson (28 points, 14 rebounds)

UConn's Jeff Adrien (12 points, 14 rebounds)

•The Huskies outrebounded the Orange, 76-67 (that's a game score on most nights)

•UConn logged 27 turnovers (Usually a months' worth for the Huskies).

•UConn blocked 16 shots, including six by Thabeet.

•Flynn knocked down an amazing 16-of-16 from the free throw line.

•Syracuse's Andy Rautins hit 6-of-12 on his threes.
