Female Body Piercing

Joining the bandwagon of tattoo dragons and henna motifs have emerged the art of female body piercing. Female body piercing has now become more of a fashion statement for the trendy who are ready to experiment with something which is new.

Gone are the days when women used to shy away from all kinds of new experiments and keep themselves confined within the boundaries of the room. The new age woman who knows how to juggle the different hats to perfection is ready to pamper herself and give herself a new look.

Are you looking for a new make over this Christmas? Want to do something different that would make you stand apart from the crowd? Are you craving to have a beautiful body?

Nipple Piercing

Nipple PiercingNipple piercing (for both women and men) is becoming one of the most performed type of body piercing today. If you are considering having yours done, there are a few things you must know about the process. The first thing is the most obvious; the pain. Piercing the nipples is very painful, one of the most painful piercings you can get. Secondly, the healing time can extend up to and beyond a year. During that time, you will be constantly ‘reminded’ that your nipples are still healing by various ‘brushes’ against clothing, bras, etc. etc. For nipple piercings, it is extremely important to follow the aftercare guidelines given to you by your piercer to the letter, and make sure to not allow contact between your healing nips and your partners mouth, as this can lead to serious infection!

Once the healing process is complete, you can relax and begin enjoying some of the ‘benefits’ that come with having your nipples pierced. First, you will notice that your nipples are actually more sensitive to stimulation, even if you are just walking around or going about your daily movements. During sex, having your partner stimulate them directly will give you sensations you never felt before, with some women reporting the ability to climax just from having their nipples manipulated. Nipple piercing truly gives new meaning to the phrase, ‘No pain, no gain.

Body Piercing Like This Young Woman

Body Piercing Like This Young Woman What is body piercing anyway? Simple, pick a body part such as nose, ears, lips, tongue, belly button and more, poke a hole in it with a giant needle or ice pick and insert a piece of jewelry. That is just my opinion but it is a little more sophisticated than that. How would you like have a [...]

Aku dan Malam Ini

...
Seperti malam-malam yg lalu
Aku mulai melewatkan detik demi detik
dengan terdiam memandangi potretmu.
Mulai menjelajahi lembut parasmu
Menatap mata indahmu yang bersinar
yang membuatku tertunduk tak kuasa.
Cahaya wajahmu pancarkan aura
yang meluluhkan setiap mata yg memandangnya.
Dan senyum manismu
adalah satu hal yg selalu membuatku rindu
setengah mati.

Tapi bersamamu
bahagiaku lebih dari arjuna
lebih dari romeo
apalagi pujangga-pujangga.

...
Sekali lagi kupandangi potretmu
dan berharap
semoga malam ini kau hadir di mimipiku.

Body Piercing Jewelry Since Ancient Times

Body piercing has been practiced by many peoples all over the world. This habit dates all the way from ancient times. The oldest mummified body discovered so far with an earring is that of Ötzi the Iceman (from about 3300 BC), which was found in an Austrian glacier. The earring measured 7-11mm in diameter.

  • Nose piercing has been common in India since the 16th century.
  • Tongue piercing was popular with the elite of Aztec and Maya civilization, though it was carried out as part of a blood ritual and such piercings were not intended to be permanent.
  • Ancient Mesoamericans wore body jewelry in their ears, noses, and lower lips, and such decorations continue to be popular amongst indigenous peoples in these regions.

In the United States, it became quite poplar only after the 60′s, when it was adopted by women and men in the hippie and gay communities, and later the punk subculture, they used most body jewelry.

By the 1980s, male ear piercing had become somewhat common in the United States, although men usually only pierced one of their ears. Today, single and multiple piercing of either or both ears is extremely common among Western women, and fairly common among men.

Healing Process After Body Piercing

Body piercing is an art that is practiced by human beings since ages. Even the kings and queens are known to have pierced ears and noses. With changing trends, people have started piercing their navel buttons, eyebrows and even tongues. Everybody sees the style statement it gives to the person but nobody cares for the pain that the person has undergone to get that.

If you are looking for a home remedy to ease out the healing process after your body piercing, mustard oil mixed with a little turmeric can be very helpful for you. The healing process after getting any of your body parts pierced is a slow process and you have to be constantly conscious about not touching the piercing for several days. There are several ointments and creams that can speed up the healing process and there are some medicines also that can be helpful for you.

How to Care for An Eyebrow Piercing

How to Care for An Eyebrow Piercinglike caring for pierced ears, but it does take some work. The following steps are tedious, but will speed the healing process and make for a prettier brow. The person who pierced your brow will be the first one to ask for advice. He or she has seen it all before and will likely know the answers to your questions.

First step, you must have clean hands. Use any good anti-bacterial soap to wash your hands. It is better if you are in the shower or have just gotten out. The steam will make the rings or balls of the jewelry easier to turn without any friction.

The eyebrow piercing needs to be disinfected twice daily, usually morning and night. The anti-bacterial soap should be used to soap up around the piercing and the soap and water will allow the ring and/or balls to twist easily. Apply a disinfectant liberally on both ends of the ring.

Some doctors recommend an anti-bacterial ointment. Some doctors say this prolongs the healing process. So, be your own judge here. Definitely do not use any petroleum based product, as it will hold in bacteria and lead to infection. Also remember to check the tightness on your eyebrow piercing. It's very important to check daily, and tighten to the right. After applying the disinfectant, you might want to use a gauze pad at night for the first few weeks over your piercing. Some piercers recommend a new pillowcase so bacteria, which may be lingering on the pillowcase, won't cause a problem for your beautiful new piercing.

During the healing process a scab will form and the piercing may drain a little. Remember that the jewelry needs to remain in place to act as a drain. If the jewelry is too large to allow proper drainage, it should be replaced with a smaller size. Removing your jewelry prematurely can cause an infected hole to close. Draining is normal, but if you feel it is turning into a thicker and darker discharge, please contact your doctor for more advice.

Bruises are not unusual after a piercing. They often take a little while to show. Don't be alarmed, eyebrows often bruise. The piercing is a major damage to the tissues and being on the surface of the face; the internal bleeding is easily shown. Yellow isn't necessarily bad, often a slightly older bruise will have this color. If the brow is shrinking and does not have fresh tenderness or oozing, chances are the brow is in good condition. If you put a cold pack on your eyebrow (hold it gently so you don't hurt the new jewelry) it may help to shrink the swollen tissues. But don't put on make-up to cover-up the bruise as it may cause an infection.

The entire healing process should take around 6 to 8 weeks. Do not expose your piercing to cosmetics such as make-up, hair products, lotions, creams, gels, etc. Cosmetics contain many different ingredients and can cause irritation and infection. During the healing process, it is best to avoid sunbathing, hot sauna, etc.

The last thing to watch out for is clothing getting caught in your new accessory! Loose fitting and clean clothing is a must, at least until you get used to your new piece of jewelry. Wait until the piercing has healed completely before engaging in strenuous physical activities such as playing football or even a pillow fight.

Once your piercing has fully healed, you can change your jewelry whenever you wish. To avoid complications, you should always wear good quality body jewelry of appropriate size and thickness. Use proper cleanliness habits so infections do not set in after your initial piercing has healed.

Ear Piercing Stretching

stretched the flesh of their ears since ancient times. Today, this practice has become quite fashionable, more so for aesthetic reasons, rather than cultural or spiritual.

The ears, especially the lobes, are very easy to stretch because they are so fleshy and pliable. When you move further up into the cartilage of the ear, it will take longer for a stretched piercing to heal.

Stretching is also know as gauging. The term "gaguing up" can be confusing because you are adding jewelry that is larger in size, but the bigger the jewelry, the smaller the gauge size. Standard earrings have a gauge of 20, or 18. Piercing studs are usually 16. From a size 16, for example, you would gauge up to 14, 12, 10, 8, and so on.

If at some point you decide to stop stretching your piercing, it will eventually close. This is due to the elastic qualities of the ear lobes, and the good blood circulation that occurs here. There is a point where your holes will probably not shrink down to their original size. This is usually around a size 2 gauge.

While stretching ear piercings, there is no set time that will work for everyone. For some, it can take as little as two weeks for the stretch to heal. Others may not feel that their ears are completely healed for a month.

After the ear is completely healed, allow ample time for the newly stretched skin to thicken and harden before stretching again. A good time is about 3 times as long as it took for the ear to heal. A lot of people don't do this. It's exciting as you progress toward larger jewelry, but rushing can cause scarring, which makes it harder to stretch piercings.

Methods

Stretching can be uncomfortable, but it should not be very painful, and it should not cause a bleeding. The initial stinging and discomfort should be gone within a day but your ear will feel quite sensitive as it heals. It may also feel uncomfortable the first couple nights that you sleep on them. For this reason, you may want to stretch piercings in both ears one at a time.

Use stainless steel rings or plugs to stretch a piercing. Don't stretch or wear wood or acrylic jewelry until the piercing has healed. These materials are much more porous than stainless steel. Porous materials leave more room for bacteria to form.

All ears are different. Some people can fit new jewelry into the ears with little difficulty, and others cannot. Let's take a look at a couple stretching methods:

- Insertion tapers are short rods with one end that tapers down to a smaller size at the other end. These should be inserted, and gradually pushed through, one size at a time. Use a taper that is at least 3 inches in length for a smooth and gradual sizing.

- Taper rings are pieces of jewelry that stretch piercings. They are similar to insertion tapers in that one end is larger than the other. Taper rings come in many styles and variations.

- Taper spikes work like insertion tapers, but they are shorter and can be worn as jewelry, secured with small plastic bands. Push them through gradually, over time, as the ear heals.

Stretching

Soak the ears in hot water to relax the tissues before starting.

Wash your hands with an anti-bacterial soap.

Cover the jewelry in a water-based lubricant. This will make it easier to stretch your ears.

Insert the jewelry, slowly working it into the ear. Do not force it in quickly because you want to give your ears time to adjust.

Care

Wash twice daily with unscented anti-bacterial soap.

Don't use petroleum ointments to heal your ears. These can promote the presence of bacteria, which can cause infection.

Sea salt will help the ears to heal. Combine a bit if it with distilled water, and soak for 5 to 10 minutes.

Body Piercing Pain Comparisons

body modification that has been practiced for ritualistic as well as cosmetic purposes in various places all over the world. In recent years, body piercing has become increasingly popular in Western societies, where the piercings are done for aesthetic reasons. However, as more and more people debate whether or not they want to get their own body piercings, many people wonder what the negative consequences are. Specifically, many people want to know how the pain of different types of piercings compare.

The level of pain depends largely on the location of the piercing. The most common piercing is still the fleshy part of the lower ear lobe. This piercing is only momentarily painful, and most people find it quite bearable. The pain is not very severe because the piercing only goes through flesh. Piercings that go through cartilage are more painful. Therefore, piercing the top part of the ear, which is comprised of flesh and cartilage, is more painful than piercing the fleshy, bottom part of the ear. The tongue, which is a muscle, is also a painful part of the body to have pierced. Some piercings are more painful because they are done in sensitive areas. For example, nipple and genital piercings can be very painful because those areas are very sensitive.

The pain of the actual piercing, no matter what kind of piercing it is, is very brief. However, piercings may cause continuous irritation if they are constantly rubbing against the skin. Piercings done in sensitive areas can prove especially problematic. Also, piercings that are likely to rub against or be pulled by clothing, such as belly button piercings, can be painful to some people. If a piercing catches on clothes and is ripped out, it will be very painful and the hole will no longer be of any use. Studs and less likely to catch on things than rings are; people who decide to wear rings should be very careful not to allow their rings to catch on anything.

Further pain will occur if the piercing becomes infected. Certain piercings, such as tongue piercings, are harder to care for than others and may be more prone to infection. In order to avoid infection, people should make sure that they have their piercing performed by a professional. Additionally, people need to follow all care instructions, especially cleaning procedures.

All piercings are painful to some extent. Piercings performed on fleshy areas like the lower ear lobe or the eye brow are not considered too painful by most people. Piercing performed on muscles, cartilage, or sensitive areas are more painful. Piercings that become infected are even more painful, and the pain of infection lasts much longer than the brief pain of the actual piercing. Everybody's pain tolerance is different, and people who know that they have a low pain tolerance might not want to get some of the more painful piercings. In any case, the piercing should be properly cared for to reduce the risk of complications.

Sexy And Beauty Body Piercing Art For Teen Girls

Body Piercing Hospital in Philadelphia, getting a body piercing “increases one’s risk for Hepatitis B and/or C” and HIV/AIDS. The increased risk is so great that the American Red Cross and regional blood banks have started to refuse blood donations from people with body piercings.

The health risks and permanent scarring are the long-term effects, but what are the more immediate effects of body piercing, since often teenagers think more about the present than ten or 20 years from now? Body piercing is a painful process, and most reputable companies will not do the piercing if the person has not eaten for fear of fainting. (No anesthesia is used.)

Before the needle pierces the skin, the area where the piercing will take place will be cleaned with an anti-bacterial disinfectant. Then the needle will be forced through the skin, quickly pulled out and a stainless steel or a 14-karat gold stud or hoop put in its place. The area will then once again be cleaned with an anti-bacterial disinfectant, and will need to continue being cleaned by the “piercee” a minimum of three times a day for the next few months. The jewelry will also need to be turned just as often so the skin does not grow attached to the ring or stud.

Chance of infection during the first few months is high, as any clothing that rubs against the area can, at the very least irritate the area, and at the worst contaminate the area. Piercings, such as those in the navel, will take as long as four to six months to heal properly, thus increasing your teen’s chance of infection. If the area gets too infected, does not heal properly, or has a reaction to the metal jewelry, the jewelry will have to be removed and the area allowed healing time. The hole will still exist, but nothing will be able to reside in that hole.

All in all, the health risks of body piercings are great. And so are the expenses involved. The procedure and design (or jewelry) alone can cost between $60 and $100. Besides the expense of the procedure itself is the expense the fad may cost your teen in the future. Many companies will not hire people with visible body piercings (or even the visible holes left over from one). Body piercings may end up limiting your teen’s career potential, unless of course he wants to be in the NBA. (Think Dennis Rodman.) But have you ever seen a lawyer, doctor or electrician with a nose ring?

So what are your teen’s alternatives if s/he still wants the “cool” look of a body piercing without all the pain, expense and health risks? Body jewelry for nonpierced people is available from stores like Claire’s Boutiques. Clip-on nose rings and navel rings are available in a variety of sizes, styles and colors of metal. Temporary body jewelry may be enough to appease your teen until you both finish your research on the procedures. And if it is that important to your teen’s life, ask if he’ll wait until he’s 18, the legal age for piercing in many states; then if he still feels the need, grant your permission, if not your blessing. Because some things, when he’s old enough, he’ll just have to decide for himself.

You’ve passed by them on the streets or at the mall and you have looked in curiosity and possibly turned away in disgust. You know what I mean–they are the teens of today–what used to be the fringe, the counterculture, who have now become more mainstream, the ones with the nose rings and pierced tongues. You silently wonder “how can they eat like that or blow their noses?” And then your 16-year-old daughter returns from school one day talking about her friend Mallory’s new navel ring. She thinks it’s cool and wants one. You are dead-set against the idea, but how do you handle this situation?

Some teens respond positively to “Not as long as your under my roof” and they wait until they move out or go to college. Other teens may say “Well then I’ll just leave,” and will move out. According to Woodinville, Washington, therapist, Elaine Pool, “You know your teen best.” You should know what kind of limits work and what kind of limits don’t. If your teen is one with whom you can reason, ask her to help you research the topic, and if after the research it still seems like a good idea, then you can negotiate.

Research the topic together and get all the facts, including sitting in on one someone else’s procedure so you and your teen get a realistic picture of what happens. What exactly is body piercing? Body piercing is the creating of a hole, with a needle, in a part of the skin in order to wear a ring or stud through that part. This part of the skin may be the navel, eyebrow, nostril, septum, ear, nipple, tongue, etc. The holes created for body piercing are permanent, even if after the first year, the person never wears the body jewelry again.

Body Piercing Aftercare

Body Piercing AftercareThough body piercing was part of many ancient cultures, it began diminishing due to Westernization. However, in the recent years, body piercing has gained immense popularity, especially among young girls and boys who consider piercing to be a style statement. Among the different types of body piercings, those that are most commonly done include ear piercing, nose piercing, cartilage piercing, navel piercing and the recent favorite, the lip and oral piercings. Whatever type of piercings one chooses, if one wants the piercing to sustain on the body for a long time, it is important to follow the aftercare instructions given by the piercer carefully. However, many people ignore this, only to end up with an infected body piercing. To avoid this, you have to know about the body piercing aftercare that you should follow during the healing period.

Lip Piercings

A form of body piercing that is growing in popularity is that of lip piercing. From the rich and the famous to the not so famous, both men and women are turning to lip piercing as a means of self expression. The lip piercing features a fairly quick and painless recovery period and there is literally a plethora of choices from rings to bar bells to captured beads. All of these allow one to freely express them selves in a different way every day of the year provided that they have enough jewelry.

There are a variety of piercing locations all along the upper and lower lips that provide a wide variety of choices for unique combinations that fit your style the best.

Lip PiercingsA Lip piercing is a type of body piercing which penetrate the lips, or the area surrounding the lips. The lips and surrounding area can be pierced in a variety of ways. Of the possible piercing locations available, the ones that are most commonly referred to are those of the Monroe, Medusa and labrets.

The Monroe lip piercing techniques gets its name from the famous Marilyn Monroe upper lip mole. These piercing are done with a flat-backed labret stud and it is pierced into the upper lip at the gum line.

The Medusa piercing technique also goes on the upper lips, but rather than being off-set to one side, the piercing is done trough the center of the lip in the region known as the philtrum which is the part of the lips centered just under the nostrils.

The Labret piercing can further be separated into different types. The first type of labret piercing is those on the upper lip similar to that of the Monroe piercing but there is no particular placement. Basically, if it is not localized for a Monroe piercing, then it is just a standard labret piercing.

The next sub-section of the labret piercing are the vertical labrets. The vertical labrets go in at the center of the lower lips and then come out just at the lower edge of the jaw line. This type of piercing should not be confused with the mandible piercing which goes behind the teeth and out the bottom.

Next you have the horizontal piercing which goes in at one point of the lips and out at another point. These are fairly rare piercing and they involve two piercing instead of one.

Lip piercing can also be done in sets which are known as bites. In the bites style of lip piercing, there are usually two piercing and two studs on opposite sides of the lips. When these pairs of piercing are on the upper lip they are known as angelbites whereas when they are located on the lower lips they are most commonly referred to as snakebites. There is also the venombites in which the lower lips piercing are located close together. You also have the caninebites in which a angelbite piercing is combined with a snakebite piercing but rather than using 4 studs, the upper piercing holes are studded to the lower holes. Finally there is the spiderbites which places three piercing, one in the center and two off to either side in equal distances from the first.
